Attractions
Since I was a kid, I've loved amusement parks. I watched the Wonderful World of Disney to see the sneak peeks at PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and the Osmonds' HAUNTED MANSION episode. I finally got to experience Disneyland for the first time at the age of 26. From that point on, themed attractions became part of my work.
TERROR ON THE SQUARE 2000
In 2000, my longtime friend and world-renowned illustrator took the leap from backyard haunter to a fully commercial haunted attraction in the Nashville suburb of Gallatin, TN. TERROR ON THE SQUARE opened in early October 2000 and was praised nationwide for its professional sets, actors, and costumes. I created a back story and characters, and wrote the storyline, MORTUARY OF MADNESS, for Jeff.
I wrote the back story and the script for the actors as well as plotting some of the visual effects including a leaf-strewn "frozen" pond with a live actor beneath it pounding at just the right moment as guests walked over them.
Jeff Preston often boasted the number of adults who wet themselves as they went through the attration.

TERROR ON THE SQUARE 2001
In 2001, Jeff repeated his halloween haunted attraction with a story that tied into actual caves and legends surrounding them in his town of Gallatin. Again, I scripted the story for Jeff.
BUSCH GARDENS TAMPA HOWL-O-SCREAM
The fastest project of my creative life. I was asked by Lisa Mezzai of Busch Gardens on a Monday to create a character for a focus group on Wednesday. Dementia was the result.
