RAIL
In the mid 1990s, Dave Dorman laid the groundwork for a new universe of adventure when he created a suite of character paintings for a trading card series. Fifteen years later, stories set in THE WASTED LANDS have been introduced in the form of a graphic novel (RAIL), a novel (THE UNINVITED), several stories in comics anthologies A1, HEAVY METAL, and PENTHOUSE COMIX. Several 3D product replicas are in development. Steve Smith Productions is currently developing the story that began in the graphic novel RAIL for feature film.
THINGS TO COME
In 1936, Alexander Korda and H.G. Wells collaborated on a story of hope and dreams in the future following a great war. Starring Raymond Massey as the stoic John Kabal and also as Oswald Kabal, the leader of the futuristic Everytown, the film is considered by some to be preachy, by others to be a self-absorbed philosophical rant by Wells, and by film scholars to be a masterpiece of speculative filmmaking. It is my dream to re vision this story into film.
LUANA
In 1974, Alan Dean Foster wrote the novelization for an Italian film entitled LUANA with only the poster art by Frank Frazetta, a few movie stills, a script in Italian, and the characters names to go by. What he created bore little resemblance to the film, but it is an excellent jungle adventure in the tradition of Edgar Rice Burroughs. Alan and I have been toying with the idea of reissuing the novel and writing a treatment for a "re-visioned" film based not on the earlier film, but on his original story.
