I loved art history in college. Other than barely passing most of the classes I had the opportunity to study under some excellent professors including Jan Swenson, who had studied art in Chicago in the early 1940s under Laszlo Maholy-Nagy. I collect art books and have had one opportunity to create one. My hope is to add more to the list.
STAR WARS: THE ART OF DAVE DORMAN
Dave and I packaged this book for Michael Friedlander over the course of less than two weeks in late 1995. The book was among the last titles to be released as part of Friedlander's distribution deal with Random House, however, the title was Diamond Comic Distributors' bestselling artbook of the year and Random House's top selling art book for May 1996.
THE ART OF BASIL GOGOS
Vanguard Press published this amazing collection of Basil Gogos' art in 2006. The book was available in softcover, hardcover and signed slipcased edition as well. Kerry Gammill did a stellar job in bringing together the likes of Rob Zombie, James Bama, Sam Sherman and ME!!! I whote the chapter on the Return of the King, profiling the MONSTERSCENE years with Basil.
